Ode To Mornings

Ode to Mornings

Peeking as a curious toddler it arrives.
Slowly rising, tickling the rosy cheeks
Of clouds, tiptoeing into the world.
Its shyness fades, replaced by excitement.

The Sun plunges out of the horizon.
Like killer whales from the sea,
It sends waves upon the shore.
And dampens the slumbering sand.

The golden nectar starts flowing,
Lightly coating living things,
Awakening the birds,
Starting the choir of chirps.

Tweet! Tweet! Chirp! Chirp!
These busy bees gently lift the heavy
Sleep from once wide eyes,
And welcome them to the day.

Tiny feet patter along the
Freshly dew sprinkled grass.
Life starts to emerge from
Under the blanket of night.

Energy starts to enter sloppy
Lifeless figures. Minds reunite with bodies,
Drenched with rest. Wide stretched yawns
Begin to transform into soft smiles.

The world awakes strengthened by the
Dreams of darkness. Fluttering busy bodies
Escape their shelter, and embrace the world.
Morning hides, eager for tomorrow’s adventure.

****
There are so many people in this world who curse at the blessed morning. Mornings are the starting points of all days, and the beginning is always beautiful.

Winds of Change

The mighty wind is oh so powerful.
It can send a gentle breeze across one's cheek on a hot summer day.
Or it can lift houses vast distances.
But, the thing that I find most spectacular is how its always changing... just like this life. This life is constantly changing.. this mind constantly thinking.. these emotions constantly mixing..

Open your arms wide and embrace the winds of change.
